A few days ago, I mentioned that I had some big news but I couldn’t say yet. I wanted everything to be official, dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s. Well, everything is all dotted and crossed now.

Last week, I was hired by the University of Maryland to design the website of the vice president. It is a very exciting and challenging project as I work to make a design work within the boundaries set by the university. I have to make the website look distinctive and memorable but at the same time have it look like it belongs to the rest of the university’s website. I’m up to the challenge!
It would also mean that I will leave the comforts of my home office and do the big commute in the crazy DC traffic to get to College Park every day. But as crazy as it sounds, I am kind of looking forward to it (I’ll let you know a month from now how I feel about that). It would be good to get out of the house and look at other walls beside the ones in my apartment and talk to other people in person and not by text or Facebook. The people I met during my interview are very nice and I’m sure it will be a great group to work with.
I will continue to work with my design clients and for TM Design (which means I’m going to be very busy) but I will not be taking any new business until May. Wish me luck!

Congratulations! That’s great news! You enjoy that commute lol
Luck isn’t needed, but a BIG Congratulations is in order!
Congratulations! Hope you enjoy the change of working outside the house for a while – sometimes I think it would be lovely to have a coffee break with other people – so it might even be worth the commute (and if not, at least you’ll know!)
It’s wonderful that the U of MD recognizes how creative and talented you are. This is not chopped liver! Much success…
Thank you guys!
Congratulations Aynex I’m sure you deserve it, take care.
